Firefighters Put Out Blaze at Chevron Refinery in El Segundo

Firefighters doused a fire that erupted in a trash bin at the Chevron Refinery in El Segundo on Saturday, officials said. 

The fire was reported about 10:30 a.m. in the 300 block of El Segundo Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. 

When fire crews arrived, they found a trash bin on fire and quickly worked to put out the flames.

Clouds of black smoke could be seen billowing into the air.

There was no damage to the refinery.

Sepulveda Boulevard was temporarily blocked in both directions, El Segundo police said.
