Dentist Kissed Girls on His Examination Chair: Sheriff

Girls aged 12 and 17 told their parents he kissed on their lips during an examination

A Compton family dentist has been arrested for allegedly kissing two girls while they sat in his examination chair.

Dr. Mohammed Kader, 51, was taken into custody at the Compton Family Dentistry on the 1500 block of West Rosecrans Avenue Thursday, a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokesman said.

It came after the girls, aged 12 and 17, told their parents he kissed them on their lips during an examination. Their parents in turn informed law enforcement about the alleged abuse.

One local businessman was shocked Kader had been arrested on the counts of lewd acts with a minor and annoying or molesting a minor.

"When he got arrested yesterday, I think something else, maybe …  Medicaid (fraud)…  but this case, I got surprised today," the witness said. "I can't believe he's guilty or not guilty."

The clinic's former security guard Orlando Paxton said the dentist would give him sugary treats to hand out to youngsters.

"He would give me candy to pass out to the kids, help him bring (customers) in or whatever. (He) asked me to bring my daughter in and I never got a chance to do it. Now I'm glad I didn't," Paxton said.

Kader, who had been practicing at Compton Family Dentistry for the past two years, was also employed from 2009 to 2013 at Western Dental and Brighten Dental Offices located in the San Bernardino County area.

Cypress resident Kader is being held in lieu of $120,000 bail and is scheduled to appear at Compton Superior Courthouse court Monday
