Culver City police on Friday arrested a man on suspicion of sexually assaulting a minor whose mother he met through a social networking website, officials said.
Eric Andrew Warfield is accused of assaulting the girl at his Culver City home, according to a release by the Culver City Police Department.
Detectives said Warfield met the girl's mother on MeetMe.com and had been dating for several months. Police did not release the victim's age.
The initial news release described the pair meeting on a "dating website," but police later clarified the couple met on social networking site MeetMe.com.
The investigation is ongoing, and police asked anyone with information or who believes they were a victim of a similar crime to Detective Baskaron at 310-253-6319 or the watch commander at 310-253-6202.
