Coffee Bean Orders “Paul Walker” Cash-Collecting Jars Off Shop Counter

Another actor tweeted a photo of the jars, asking if they seem "exploitative and in poor taste"

A Los Angeles coffee shop apparently set out jars asking customers to use their cash to vote for their favorite films starring Paul Walker, the “Fast and Furious” star who recently perished in a fiery car crash.

“Umm, am I crazy, or does this seem exploitive and in poor taste?” actor Jason Biggs tweeted Tuesday, along with a photo of the tip jars.

On the containers are scrawled the names of two of Paul Walker's best-known movies, "The Fast and the Furious" and "Varsity Blues." The jars, filled with cash, are situated in front of a display of Coffee Bean products.

It's not clear where the money collected was intended to go.

A spokesperson for LA-based The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf said the jars have been taken off the counter, adding that they cannot release the location in question "as the matter is still under investigation."

"This is completely inconsistent with our brand values and the jars have since been removed. Our thoughts and condolences remain with the many friends and family of Paul Walker during this difficult time. The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® would like to thank Jason Biggs for bringing this matter to our attention," the company said in a statement to NBC4.

Known for starring in raunchy films, like the "American Pie" series, Biggs was questioned as being a barometer for tastefulness.

“Wait! @JasonBiggs thinks something is in poor taste? Has hell frozen over?” one user wrote.

"geez you KNOW it's bad if Jason Biggs has a problem with it," another user wrote, to which Biggs responded, "Great point."

Walker, 40, and his friend Roger Rodas died Saturday in Valencia, Calif., about 40 miles north of downtown Los Angeles. The pair was traveling in a Porsche Carrera GT driven by Rodas when the car crashed and burst into flames.
