Baby Jogger recalled its car seat adaptors that secure infant car seats onto strollers after receiving nearly 50 reports of the support bars failing, causing the seat to fall to the floor, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The seat adaptors come in three models and are used to secure a variety of infant car seats onto Baby Jogger strollers.
Of the 47 failure reports the company received, at least two infants were hurt and had bruises to the head and toes.
The affected adaptors are the Single, Double, and Select/Versa models. They have two U-shaped black, aluminum support bars and two black plastic adaptors that allow the support bars to attach onto the stroller.
The faulty car seat adaptors were manufactured between April 1, 2012, and Sept. 20, 2012. The recall included the following model numbers:
- Adaptor for Single strollers: BJ90121
- Adaptor for Double strollers: BJ90221
- Adaptor for Select/Versa strollers: BJ90321
Consumers should immediately stop using their car seat adaptor and contact Baby Jogger for free replacement support bars by calling 877-506-2213, emailing recall@babyjogger.com, or by visiting the company’s website at www.babyjogger.com.
