California Highway Patrol officers arrested a 19-year-old Hayward man and impounded a Ford Mustang after a sideshow on Interstate Highway 880 in Oakland over the weekend.
Officer Sean Wilkenfeld said officers responded Sunday afternoon to reports from of multiple vehicles that were spinning doughnuts and blocking traffic in the northbound lanes of the freeway near the Hegenberger Expressway.
One officer reported being pelted with rocks and bottles once on scene, Wilkenfeld said.
The officer stopped a red Ford Mustang and cited the driver for reckless driving and impounded the vehicle for 30 days. CHP officers later said the young men were making a rap video.
Wilkenfeld said officers have identified at least two other people who may have been participating in the sideshow. A video shot by passerby Thomas Imbro, of Redwood City, shows at least two or three other cars driving around with their doors open, surrounded by several men hopping around the street, and taking pictures.
"Oh man," Imbro says on the video he posted on YouTube. "We're gonna be stuck here. Surprised the police aren't here yet."
The 52-year-old Imbro said the whole ordeal lasted only about 10 minutes, and he kept looking around for someone to pull a gun out.

That didn't happen, he said, but the event, overall was quite "nervewracking."
The last big sideshow in Oakland was in November, when 150 people raced around at the Port of Oakland.
