The driver of a big rig was taken into custody after leading officers on a pursuit through the Inland Empire on Wednesday afternoon, the California Highway Patrol said.

The pursuit began at 3:13 p.m. on the 60 Freeway east of Roubiudoux, the CHP said. The truck continued onto the 10 Freeway and exited at E Street in San Bernardino. It remained on surface streets until 4:30 p.m., when the truck came to a stop and the driver surrendered.

At some point during the pursuit, a female passenger holding a dog bailed from the truck, officials said. She was taken into custody.
What set off the pursuit was not immediately clear.
