Apparent Road Rage Leads to Fist Fight on SoCal Freeway

A man is expected to face charges after he was allegedly involved in an apparent road rage attack caught on camera in the middle of a freeway near Glendale.

The aggressive incident occurred on Saturday around 3:15 p.m. in the wesbound lanes of the 134 Freeway near the State Route 2 interchange, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The video shows the driver of a black Nissan Infiniti repeatedly trying to cut off a silver Volkswagen Jetta. Suddenly, the Infiniti stops and that driver jumps out and apparently starts beating the Jetta's driver. The attack stops when the Infiniti driver runs back to his car and takes off.

Investigators identified the driver as Dikran Gligoriu of Temple City. He had three children in the car with him during the altercation, according to CHP.

"At this time, sufficient evidence exists to indicate Mr. Gligoriu was the driver and committed a crime," CHP said.

Authorities said a complaint will be filed with the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office for consideration. The recommended charges will include assault against another person and child endangerment.

The victim, not seen in the video, but seated in the silver car, did not sustain physical injuries.

CHP said no arrests had been made.

Anyone with information on the attack was asked to contact the CHP at either (818) 240-8200 during business hours or the CHP Communications Center at (323) 982-4900, 24-hours a day.
