22 Years In Prison In Forcible Rape Case Similar to Jaycee Dugard

Raul Ochoa, 52, pleads guilty to raping and keeping relative captive.

In a case with disturbing similarities to the saga of Jaycee Dugard, a 52-year old Richmond man pleaded guilty to keeping a relative captive and raping her from a period from 1998 to 2012, according to reports.

Raul Ochoa's victim was 27 when she escaped from Ochoa by running away from him and to police while at a gas station on Aug. 16, 2012, the Contra Costa Times reported.

She told cops she'd been held at his home against her will since she was 12, and sexually assualted for a period of 14 years.

"Basically, her entire childhood was more or less stolen from here," a prosecutor told the newspaper.

Ochoa accepted a plea deal that will see him serve 22 years in prison.

The woman was "rarely allowed to leave" the house, and "felt she couldn't leave," prosecutors said.

Law enforcement and media say the case has echoes of Dugard's tale. Dugard, a victim of abduction, was kept prisoner in a shed behind an Antioch home for 18 years.
