Worker Pulls Dead Body From Lake in Orange County Park

The man didn't realize he found a body until he pulled it out of the water, police say

A worker at an Orange County park discovered what he thought was a mannequin floating in a lake that turned out to be a body, officials said Wednesday.

The worker was at Centennial Regional Park in Santa Ana about 9 a.m. when he saw the body in a large lake near the entrance, Santa Ana Police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna said.

The man didn't realize he found a body until he pulled it out of the water, police said.

The body showed no signs of any wounds, police said. The coroner's office is working to identify the body, described as a man between 30 and 50 years old wearing tan pants and a polo shirt, police said.
