Business Owners Angry After Water Main Break

Several businesses were forced to shut their doors Tuesday afternoon after a water main break on Garnet Avenue.

The break left rupture in the middle of the street near the intersection of Garnet and Fanuel.

"It just started bubbling and water started coming out of the street," said Kim Kittinger, owner of Impulsive Flowers located right in front of the location where the water main broke.

Kim and her staff had to carry water from other parts of the street to keep their flowers alive.  Local business owners are fed up.  They said it's the third time in the last two years that this has happened.

"We were going to have a busy day today.  Eight stylists scheduled with three clients per stylist. We've had to reschedule all those appointments," said Christine Reynolds, owner of the Paper Doll Salon.

The owner of one sushi restaurant said he loses $4,000 to $5000 in business every time it happens.
