Now you can play the Powerball lottery from your smart phone. The $700 million dollar jackpot up for grabs Wednesday night is the second largest in U.S. history.
"I bought a ticket because I want to win!" said Norma Branson from the Murphy Canyon Market in San Diego. "I would pay off my house and take my son on a nice vacation."
“Demand from our users is three times higher than it has ever been before,” said Lottery.com CEO, Tony DiMatteo.
He added the app is being rolled out to cater to that growing demand.
The free app is available for iPhone and android devices. It lets you scan your ticket and track it. You can also get lotto results and notifications on your phone.
“When you play on our platform, you don’t have to worry about losing a ticket or your dog eating it," added DiMatteo. "We’ll check those tickets for you, redeem the winnings and credit your account.”
Search "Powerball lottery" in the app store to find it.
The full app is being rolled out on a state by state basis. Lottery.com officials say California users will soon be able to buy their tickets from the app too.
