On May 16, 2019, two of San Diego's beloved residents -- giant pandas Bai Yun, 27, and her son, Xiao Liwu, 6 -- arrived safely back in their homeland. The furry pair had been living at the San Diego Zoo, on loan from China. When the zoo's 23-year conservation agreement with China ended, the deal was that the pandas would be repatriated to China. Here's a look at the mother-son duo as they settle into their homeland. They're living at the China Giant Panda Conservation Research Center.
