Your job: Decide to get out of town and fast. Our job: Help you find where you're headed. This week, Worth the Drive takes us to...

The Victorian Mansion Bed and Breakfast: Literally, it’s a Victorian Mansion that houses all sorts of quirky rooms including 50’s with a corvette bed, gypsy with a caravan wagon bed and a pirate suite, resembling a the captain’s quarters of a pirate ship...to name a few.

Amenities: Suites are equipped with background music, board games, hot tubs and hidden bathroom doors that correspond with each theme.  The idea is to have you second-guessing what year or country you're in.  Rates vary per room.

Also: There are special packages available like Spa Relaxation or Wine Lovers.  We heard that.

The town: Los Alamos is in the heart of the Santa Barbara wine country and near the Santa Ynez Valley.  Since it's the birthplace for many grapes grown for several boutique wineries, enjoy wine tasting in the area or visit the C Gallery

Fun Fact: Residents today still pick up their mail from the downtown Post Office since no street delivery is available.

Take an afternoon trip: Solvang, a quaint Danish town is only a short drive away where you can visit a full-sized holiday gingerbread house during November and December or marvel at street performers in September.
