Your job: Decide to get out of town and fast. Our job: Help you find where you’re headed. This week, Worth the Drive takes us to…

Condor Whale Watching: Santa Barbara happens to be one of the best whale watching venues in the world. This activity is certainly not for faint of heart. You will get the chance to be up close and personal with some of the world’s greatest variety of marine mammals who dwell in the Santa Barbara Channel.

Whale-Phobic?: Don’t be. Whales, especially the Humpback, are friendly mammals. The Condor Cruises is also a dinner cruise so enjoy delicious food and drink while admiring the scenery.

Best Time to Go: You can go whale watching year-round, but prime feeding times for blue whales and humpback whales are from May through November. This is when the California gray whale herd passes by on both their Southern and Northern migrations.

Special Deals: If you go before Sep. 30th, you’ll get a free DVD highlighting the whales and dolphins of the Santa Barbara Channel and the Channel, itself.  Or, if you go between before Dec. 31st, you’ll receive a 10% discount off of your 4 ½ hour trip. Make sure to print out a coupon, here.
