Hundreds of body surfers will be catching the waves in Oceanside this weekend for the 35th annual Body Surfing Championship.
The competition will be held adjacent to the Oceanside Pier August 20 to 21 starting at 6:30 a.m. both mornings.
In addition to the competition, the event will also host a forum for bodysurfers in an effort to unite the community. Travelers who attend the competition can learn about the best spots for body surfing from locals at the event.
