FREE & CULTURED.For a more sophisticated approach to Valentine's Day, Basic is holding the "Significant Others" art show from 7 p.m. to midnight. Local artists will be showcasing their finest pieces at 410 10th Ave. in downtown San Diego. The best part? There's no cover charge.

I'M ON A BOAT. Hate Valentine's Day? No worries, there are events for singles, too. From 8 :30 p.m. to 1 a.m. you can celebrate your independence on a boat for the One Night Stand Anti-Valentine's Day boat party. Cost is $20. Information can be found here.
