Philanthropic shoe label TOMS is known for splashy feats that draw attention to its mission to put shoes on children in need around the world. (Who could forget A Day Without Shoes, which featured a taco-related Cardiff tie-in?) On Tuesday, June 7, at 10:30 a.m., the brand will unlock the “mystery boxes” that have been installed inside select Nordstroms across the country — in our case, Fashion Valley — and what’s inside, according to Nordstrom, will be “the key to the next chapter of TOMS One for One.”
If you want to see the big reveal in person, RSVP on the Nordstrom site and head on down to Fashion Valley tomorrow morning and make a beeline for Nordstrom's BP shoe department. Otherwise, watch the livestream on the event’s Facebook page. The festivities start at 10 a.m.
Try as we did, our Nordstrom contact didn’t give up any hints and added that even Nordstrom's higher-ups don’t know what’ll be loosed from the 7-foot tall, 90-pound capsule. So — any guesses as to what TOMS founder Blake Mycoskie has up his sleeve? On our end, we’re thinking it could be expanded apparel or — dare we say — a foray into hats.
