If I had to choose one show to check out at North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre in Chula Vista this summer, it would probably be tonight's show. As if Third Eye Blind and Jimmy Eat World as co-headliners aren't just a dose of nostalgia on steroids, we all know how much I love Syracuse indie-rock band Ra Ra Riot who are opening the show. But you also know I love my little shows, too. If you loved the Plimsouls and the Nerves back in the day, you can catch Peter Case tonight at Whistle Stop, country-music lovers can check out William Clark Green at the Casbah, or hear the dreamy sounds of "Fantastic Beasts" actress and A Fine Frenzy frontwoman, Alison Sudol, at Soda Bar. We're inching closer to the weekend but I see no shame in kicking things off a little bit early. Summer will only last for so long.
