The Oceanside Labor Day Pier Swim, as seen in this file image from the North County Times, is an annual event for locals. Jump in and get wet along with hundreds of your closest friends for the one-mile race around the Oceanside pier.
Art San Diego 2011 takes place Thursday, Sept. 1 through Sunday, Sept. 4 at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront. The event highlights dozens of artists from all over the world, showcasing paintings, drawings, prints, video, photographs and sculptures. Find ticket information here.

On Thursday, September 1st, 2011 tall ships from all over the world will parade around the San Diego Bay ending at the Maritime Museum's docks. The Festival of Sail takes place Friday through Monday and is one of the largest tall ship festivals on the west coast.

San Diego's Bayfront Hilton will play host to the 9/11 Memorial Stairclimb and Community Festival on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011. The 110 floor climb is designed to honor the 343 FDNY, 23 NYPD, and 37 Port Authority members lost on 9/11.
