Friday, Reader on Tap features the Burning of Rome, Blackout Party, the Nervous Wreckords, Shady Francos and Flaggs at the Observatory North Park; The Crawdaddys, the New Kinetics, the Bassics and DJ Tony the Tyger are at the Casbah; Hot Nerds' record release party is at Soda Bar with Qui, Victis and DJ Mike Delgado; Ed Ghost Tucker and Idyll Wild play the grand opening of the Balboa (formerly the Tin Can); Eleanor Friedberger is at the Whistle Stop; Super Diamond – the Neil Diamond Tribute hits the Belly Up; Tone-Loc takes over Porter’s Pub; and Sprung Monkey headline Brick by Brick. Saturday, the Best Coast Beer Fest is at Embarcadero Park South; Agent Orange, Death Eyes, Sculpins and Records With Roger take over the Casbah; Nahko and Medicine for the People headline at the Observatory North Park; Madi Diaz and Swim Team play at the grand opening of Quartyard (read our profile on the new, unique venue here); Atlantis Rizing, the Concrete Project, Odessa Kane, and Parker & the Numberman (featuring our own SoundDiego contributor J. Smith) are at the Merrow; Schitzophonics and Sleeping Ghost are at the Balboa; Viet Cong, Freak Heat Waves and DJ Craig Oliver hit Soda Bar; Action Andy & the Hi-Tones, the Amalgamated and Hobo Torch are at Brick by Brick; Cheap Girls and Restorations take over the Hideout; Super Diamond – the Neil Diamond Tribute (Night 2) are at the Belly Up; and Sleaze Fest overruns Til-Two.
