Sweet as Sweet Can Be

Doing something good never tasted as sweet as Taste of the Nation will.

This Sunday, San Diego’s celebrity chefs and mixologists will prepare their cuisines for the Taste of the Nation benefit, an event aimed at raising money to end childhood hunger in San Diego and across the nation.

Coupled with the lovely setting in the beautiful May S. Marcy Sculpture Court in Balboa Park, this dining benefit would be a very romantic evening on date night. What could be more sensual than sampling the finest foods San Diego could offer with that special someone in a beautiful garden?

More than 25 restaurants will be represented at the event from The Marine Room to The Grand Del Mar. Also, some of San Diego’s handcrafted beer purveyors will be there along with wines, Skyy Vodka, Café Virtuoso and more.

And what would a classy benefit be without an auction? Items up for bidding include a three-night stay at the Hyatt Regency, a New York City getaway package, golfing packages and more.

The event is this Sunday from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. Tickets are $75. One hundred percent of all ticket sales go to charities like the San Diego Hunger Coalition to help ensure no child goes hungry.
