The CHP reported heavy rain in Julian and light to moderate rain in El Cajon. Showers sprinkled the streets in other parts of the county.
A series of storms is expected to arrive in San Diego over the next week, bringing heavy rain and mountain snow.
A deep low pressure system developing over the West will send a series of weather systems into Southern California next week, according to the National Weather Service.
The first chance for precipitation will be this weekend as the marine layer rapidly deepens, but there is a far greater chance of rain on Monday and Tuesday when a bigger storm arrives in the region. NWS officials said that temperatures will drop and rain will fall intermittently for much of next week.
The storm starting on Monday will be intense, winterlike system that could drop multiple feet of snow at higher altitudes in areas like Big Bear, and snow could fall in San Diego at spots like Mount Laguna, Palomar and Cuyamaca.
