Steven Luke is a 10-time Emmy award winning general assignment reporter and weekend morning anchor for NBC 7.
Steven joined NBC 7 in 2002 and has covered San Diego’s major stories from across Southern California, as well as from around the nation and abroad.
The 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea mark Steven’s 5th Olympics. Previous Olympics assignments include 2006 Torino, 2012 London, 2014 Sochi, and 2016 Rio De Janeiro.
A native of Pleasant Hill, California Steven attended San Diego State University graduating Magna cum laude with a degree in Communications. It was during his time in college when he walked into his first newsroom for an internship. That station was NBC 7 and he is proud to be once again working for the same station that gave him his start.
Steven returned to San Diego after anchoring in Bakersfield, CA for KERO, which is where he also learned how to shoot and edit his own stories.
Today Steven frequently works as “multimedia journalist” producing, shooting, writing, editing, and reporting stories by himself.
Steven and his wife, along with their 3 children, live in San Diego.
Steven is active in his community and enjoys supporting his kids in their school, church, and sports related activities. He is involved in organizations including the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and Young Life, as well as many of NBC 7’s charitable causes.
