Sounds Like San Diego: Sept. 23

Joywave crash into Casbah on Wednesday

Joywave - Hi Res
David O'Donahue

Wednesday in San Diego, Future Islands play to a sold-out crowd at the Observatory, as does Snarky Puppy at the Belly Up, but that doesn't mean that you can't get out this hump day for some fun music. The Casbah welcomes alt-rockers Joywave (not to be confused with Day Wave, who perform in town later this week), and their star certainly seems to be on the rise, so you should definitely catch them before they blow up. Meanwhile, the Hideout gets the metal treatment with the Skull and Lord Howler, and Soda Bar hosts Lights & Music. The Merrow keeps it local with River Uphill, and House of Blues welcomes Panteon Rococo, a ska band from Mexico City.
