September is full of incredible shows coming to town, including some of the best troubadours of our generation. Ray LaMontagne is among them, with his prolific songwriting and his unique vocal style, and you can expect a hush to fall over the Open Air Theatre when he hits the stage -- and throughout the entire show -- as he'll play to a captivated audience on the edge of their seats all night long. It makes it unfortunate however, that another beloved singer/songwriter, Joseph Arthur, is playing the same night -- but you honestly can't go wrong with either choice. Meanwhile, the Casbah has a local show with Buddha Trixie, Belly Up has a local show with the Morgan Leigh Band, and the Observatory goes hip-hop with Clams Casino.
