Sounds Like San Diego: Oct. 9

Langhorne Slim, Mew, Lawrence and more take to San Diego's stages Tuesday

Before we dig in, we want to make sure that everyone got the word that the Ozzy Osbourne show at Mattress Firm Amphitheatre has been postponed as he recuperates from hand surgery. Still, there are plenty of reasons to get out on the town tonight, like Mew, who return to the Observatory North Park (read the new SoundDiego interview with them here) or brother/sister duo Lawrence, who make their debut at the Casbah. Soda Bar has a great show with North County's the Rightovers, and dark psych band Pleasures play at the Merrow. The show I'm really excited about is Langhorne Slim & the Lost at Last Band at the Belly Up. I started catching Slim back in the days of Beauty Bar, and he toured frequently, performing intimate shows that would grow in audience with each year that passed. Eventually the rooms he'd play would grow, and his band would sometimes change, but when he'd come to town, you'd always have the promise of an excellent performance. You can be sure to get that same intimacy and heart tonight.
