The Gaslamp might have Monster Bash, but live music lovers tend to scale it down with great shows and solid lineups that are their own main event. The Casbah will be packed with costumed revelers and an amazing top to bottom lineup of the Creepy Creeps, the Schizophonics, the Mission Creeps and Beehive & the Barracudas. In the furthest-from-Halloween-you-can-imagine, the whispery Sam Beam, aka Iron & Wine, plays Balboa Theatre. Soda Bar hosts the World Is a Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid to Die at the Irenic, the Darlings play Soda Bar and locals Loom melt faces at Til-Two Club. Whether dressing up on Oct. 28 is your thing or not is up to you, but either way, Saturday night is packed with amazing live music options to make it a blast.
