Sounds Like San Diego: Oct. 27

DIIV stops by Casbah on Tuesday

There are some really cool things happening in San Diego Tuesday night. For one, UCSD's ArtPower! has been sponsoring a special season of shows, and Tuesday they host the first performance of Music for Airports in any airport in the U.S. The legendary 1978 ambient release of Brian Eno will be performed in full by the Bang on a Can All-Stars in two performances. After that, you can head to the Casbah where DIIV is returning [read our interview with the frontman]. The Brooklyn indie band has had some serious trials and tribulations since their 2012 release, and the new material that's made it to the Internet makes it pretty clear that from pain and clarity comes awesome music. No doubt DIIV will be all over 2016 festivals, so see them in what could be their last small venue performance for awhile. Around town, the Hideout has Prom Body, while Cobalt Cranes visit Halloran at the Merrow, and Trico headline at Soda Bar.
