It just occurred to me that a lot of people will have Friday off of work for Veterans Day, which means you're pretty much in the home stretch of this work week. For some solid roots music, head to the Belly Up for Will Hoge. The Tennessee native has been in the biz for two decades but just dropped his first record in two years. He also got some headlines this past week for his outspoken response to the CMAs threatening the press if they were to bring up politics or gun control during artist interviews or coverage, which they eventually walked back on. Meanwhile at the Casbah, catch New York's Foxtrax. The alt-rock trio has some heavy press behind them and you can be sure that while this show is a bit low-profile, the band is definitely on the rise. Still, if you're looking for something chill, I'd recommend heading to Soda Bar for Hovvdy. Their record doesn't drop until the new year, but the singles they've released will put you squarely in that warm fuzzy fall feeling.
