Sounds Like San Diego: November 28

You better believe Tori Amos will deliver an arresting show at Balboa Theatre Tuesday

Sometimes the problem with seeing an enduring act after years (or in some cases, decades) of being a fan, is that their catalogs are sometimes so extensive that you could see them and not hear those classic songs that made you a fan all those years ago. Fortunately, with sites like setlist.com, you can know the material an artist has been playing on tour, and from what I hear, Tori Amos has been playing all of the favorites from back in the day, which is why seeing her in the beautiful Balboa Theatre tonight should be exceptionally beautiful. Meanwhile, former Delta Spirit frontman Matthew Logan Vasquez is back in town with a show at Soda Bar, Giraffage is back at the Observatory, and Wanted Noise headlines Halloran's night at the Merrow. I guess I have to mention that Guns N' Roses are playing Valley View Casino Center, too, but I do so reluctantly because I don't think what may have passed as lyrically acceptable back then is acceptable today, and maybe that's how we got where we are today...#metoo.
