We don't typically cover shows outside of San Diego, but we'll make an exception for the Redwoods Revue, who are taking their show on the road to Pappy and Harriet's in Pioneertown where they'll have a caravan of people out to celebrate Casbah owner Tim Mays' birthday. It's a great venue, a nice desert drive and it will be a whole ton of fun. For those of us staying behind in San Diego, the Gin Blossoms play the first of two sold-out nights at the Belly Up to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of New Miserable Experience, which is certain to bring up some heavy '90s nostalgia. At Poway Center for the Arts, there's a very special For the Sender performance featuring love letters from soldiers in Vietnam put to music by Alex Woodard and crew, Hibou plays at Soda Bar and Canadian act Blank Banshee makes an appearance at the Casbah.
