Sounds Like San Diego: November 1

The Drums head up Wednesday's live-music options around town

It is November. I mean, can you even believe a year ago we were preparing to vote for the 45th president of the U.S.? How does a year go by so quickly and yet feel like an entire lifetime ago? But regardless, here we are, and it's also a the middle of the week and we have shows galore to get you to the next weekend. At the Observatory, it's the Drums who'll bring the indie-pop prowess, but it's the opener, Methyl Ethyl, who'll make you feel extra smart for arriving early. Their hit, "Ubu," was one of my favorite jams this summer. Meanwhile at the Casbah, Ted Leo makes a triumphant return to San Diego on the heels of his critically acclaimed latest, "The Hanged Man," while up at the Belly Up, hair-rocker Bret Michaels plays a solo show, because of course he is.
