I'm pulling soccer mom duty this weekend, so I'm going to just make Thursday my weekend instead. As much as I love Lord Huron, tonight kicks off the first of their two sold-out nights at House of Blues and while those shows will be awesome, there are plenty of other options for those of us who are ticketless. Perhaps you want to see the Dead Milkmen at Belly Up, for example. There are a ton of punk hits from the guys and they still sound as scraggly as always. Meanwhile, D.O.A. ceclebrates 40 years at Brick By Brick, and LA psych-rockers Wand appear at the Casbah. I think I'll just wash my stainless steel straw and belly up to the bar at Bar Pink while enjoying Low Volts and Stephen El Rey. On a sidenote, Ticketfly has had a major outage this week, so if you can't access tickets online for venues like Brick By Brick, Soda Bar, or the Casbah, head to the venues themselves, as most likely they'll be selling tickets for any show at the door.
