Sounds Like San Diego: May 28

P!nk's messaging, image, creativity and incredible strength make her one of the best artists performing these days

It's no secret that my heart is with indie music, and I'm not typically one to seek out pop music, but one of my regrets in not going to a recent Kaaboo was missing out on seeing P!nk. Of all the pop stars, I feel like her messaging, her image, her creativity and the incredible strength she demonstrates in her performances make her one of the best artists performing these days. With prices averaging upwards of three Benjamins, her tickets are certainly not for the average person, but for the person who keeps a rainy day fund for a special occasion, her show tonight at Valley View Casino Center might just warrant the splurge. And if anyone needs to get rid of some comps, I'd gladly take them off of your hands. Barring that miracle, I'll be at the Casbah for the sold-out punk of Subhumans. At the Belly Up, jazz singer Madeleine Peyroux takes the stage, Matt Hollywood of Brian Jonestown Massacre should pack the house at Blonde and Tory Lanez returns to the Observatory.
