There are so many things to do this weekend that music might come secondary, but make sure you save some energy for some of the great shows rolling through town. Our friends at ListenSD kick off the summer with a super fun party and concert at the Lafayette featuring Kim & the Created and Schizophonics. By nightfall, if you're not at the sold out Valley View Casino Center, make your way to the Casbah for a nighttime edition of Grampadrew's Flim Flam Revue, see the Adicts and the Sonics at Observatory or catch Down by Law at the Holding Company. If you've been on the web this week, you maybe noticed a lot of talk about the Strokes after the release of a new book about the New York music scene in the early 2000s. The Strokes play center characters, and their career is dissected through intimate stories about the members. Tonight, you can catch Strokes' guitarist Nick Valensi in the flesh, as his latest project CRX rocks out at Soda Bar.
