I love San Diego success stories. When I committed to making music my job, there were tons of people who helped along the way. Immersing yourself in music, you also begin to see who really believes in this community. Back then, Jordan Krimston was this floppy-haired kid in junior high, and he'd stand outside of shows at the Casbah just to steal glances of bands as they entered and exited the side door. He ate up local shows, was always at all-ages events. He worked hard in school, devoted himselfl to music, and even helped me with my website, and now he's all grown up and living his dream. He was picked up to tour with the Obsessives who swing into town supporting Sorority Noise at the House of Blues. One particular thing I've always admired about Jordan is how humble and cool as a cucumber he always remains, and while other musicians bail town at their first opportunity, there's no doubt with Jordan that San Diego is home. Around town, Casbah hosts a night of hip-hop with Starlito & Don Trip, Soda Bar welcomes a night of synth-pop with gobbinjr, the project of Emma Witmer, and Lost Boy-cum-rocker Kiefer Sutherland plays Belly Up.
