There are some amazing things happening in San Diego this weekend, and you're going to want to pace yourself. By day, catch Taco Fest at Waterfront Park with artists like Salt-N-Pepa and Bulevar Descarga, head to Solana Beach for the annual Fiesta Del Sol street festival on the 101 with bands like Wayward Sons, Common Sense and multi-SDMA award winners Trouble in the Wind. Or, you can hear Thievery Corporation at Embarcadero Park North for Horizon Festival. Maybe take a little disco nap before nightfall because the lineup is off the charts. MGMT are back with a new record and a show at the Civic Theatre, Peter Hook's show at House of Blues will hopefully not be as depressing as last time around (it was on election night!) and legend John Prine appears at Balboa Theatre. In the smaller venues, Mating Ritual play Soda Bar, Quel Bordel are at the Casbah and Marujah play Border X Brewing Company. And don't forget while you're out, La Escalera Fest continues with day shows at the Office and Bar Pink. Whatever you choose, today is gonna be awesome, so get out and enjoy the music.
