Sounds Like San Diego: March 14

The Mowgli's, long-time SoundDiego favorites, headline Wednesday's live-music action

Mowglis at Harrahs

Many years ago, I was at a casino party on the ninth floor of the Clarion Hotel while I watched in amazement the throngs of people flooding the streets and creating a street-wide cyclone circle pit for Flogging Molly. It was during Street Scene, and I remember thinking back then that even with their Irish stylings, there wasn't a band at that time that was so quintessentially representative of San Diego. The fact that the show at the Observatory tonight sold out so quickly proves that they still are. Around town, our friends the Mowgli's play at the Casbah, Tio Leo's hosts an SDMA showcase with some of the blues nominees, Oh Sees are at the Belly Up, and New York-based singer-songwriter Luke Rathborne plays at Soda Bar.
