Sounds Like San Diego: June 30

Don't be a "Mongoloid" -- go see Devo at the Belly Up tonight

It's a short week, so take a deep breath and we can get through it together. Especially if you consider all of the great shows coming your way. Tonight, get out your dancing shoes for Lee Fields & the Expressions. The Sure Fire Soul Ensemble opens the night, and you can bet it's going to get sweaty at the Casbah. Meanwhile, Devo performs to a sold-out crowd at the Belly Up. Tickets were snatched up pretty quickly for this show, so your chances of finding a spare are slim to none -- but it's good to see the band out and about, and maybe this means they'll keep coming around. Lastly, Soda Bar host King Khan & the Shrines (read the SoundDiego interview here). While the backing band changes, the DIY ethos -- all the way down to handwritten art on thrift store t-shirts as merch -- doesn't change much, and a King Khan show always means a good time.
