It's hard to believe that this is the end of the Warped Tour. Growing up, the budding festival was like a rite of passage, and over the years I've been fortunate to attend enough of them to know that I'm way too old to be going to Warped Tours. It's been so interesting see the fashions change and hear the music change and still understand the universality of it all, the love of the festival by the outcasts and the kids on the fringes, coming together to find their tribe. Today, some pretty amazing acts are going to play the final Warped Tour date in San Diego and it will be bittersweet, but we should know that with the rampant spread of festivals nationally and internationally, something is surely waiting in the wings to take its place. By nightfall, Belle & Sebastian play a sold-out show at the Observatory North Park (read the SoundDiego interview with the band here), classic San Diego band Dirty Sweet bring the heat to the Casbah, and Bar Pink gets even pinker with an amazing lineup of ladies raising money for Planned Parenthood.
