Sounds Like San Diego: July 13

We Are Scientists, Jefferson Starship, Barrington Levy and more headline Friday's concerts

It has been a hot minute since We Are Scientists have played the Casbah, but I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am that they're back. They never fail to put on a great show, but they also seem to really revel in their devoted fans who come to see them year after year and it is so much fun, with the energy bouncing between the stage and the crowd. Of course, legendary rockers Jefferson Starship at the Belly Up has long been sold out and Barrington Levy plays at the Observatory North Park, but note that the venue has a temporary liquor suspension, so this will be a dry show. Mochilero All-Stars set the early-evening groove at Panama 66, Weedeater headline Soda Bar, and Esses play Whistle Stop. Note that the KAABOO Discovery Tour show at Quartyard has been canceled due to venue issues, which we hope to follow up on.
