Sounds Like San Diego: Jan. 6

Mrs. Magician play Soda Bar, where drummer Cory Stier is the new co-owner

If you want to talk about kicking off the new year with a bang, look no further than tonight's show listings to get a taste of the amazing homegrown talent we have. At Soda Bar, Mrs. Magician will pack the house, and it will be a little more special as drummer Cory Stier is now co-owner of the City Heights bar. Casbah is sold out for a MusiCares benefit show with locals paying tribute to Tom Petty. Even Bar Pink is in on the show action as Slaughter Boys have an album release show. For the really fresh sounds of San Diego, head to Soma to catch a battle of the bands as locals compete for a spot on the You Are Going to Hate This festival.
