Sounds Like San Diego: January 24

Leah Dou headlines Soda Bar, while other live-music options abound all over town

The pressure can be pretty intense when you're born to a musical dynasty, but Leah Dou seems to be navigating a career in music just fine. Born and raised in China, spending time in Hong Kong and Japan before permanently relocating stateside as a teenager, Dou has a mom, dad, and aunt who were all musical forces to be reckoned with all over Asia. The lineage only seems to have helped her though, with bazillions of streams and video views all over the world and an opening slot for Bastille's European arena tour. Dou takes on the West Coast with a show tonight at Soda Bar and if you like seeing the "next big thing" when they're still in small venues, don't miss it. Around town, Prof drops in at the Casbah, Vakoum play an all-local show at the Merrow, and Jeremiah and friends play a Neutral Milk Hotel tribute at Blonde.
