Sounds Like San Diego: January 23

Wolf Parade finally return to San Diego -- this time at the Observatory North Park

Long before I started working for the Casbah, I was just an eager music fan who loved seeing shows. I remember the first time Wolf Parade was set to play and I was one of those people pushing refresh on my browser trying to get tickets on a Friday morning. I didn't. The show sold out right away. But my friend did, and so we got to see that amazing early show. I remember the energy of the room, of sweating through my whole outfit, and being on one of those little bar tables that are certainly not meant to hold human weight. But nobody stopped me and I remember raging hard. All of these years later, I cannot wait to see the band again tonight at the Observatory. While the big room isn't quite the same as a small one, I'm certain other fans are just as passionate about the band as I was and am. Around town, legend John Hiatt plays at the Belly Up, Bloomcaster play at Casbah, and the Toasters bring ska to Soda Bar.
