I have been looking forward to Friday's SoundDiego Live since it first leaked that it would be at the Casbah. It's no secret I work for the venue, but this month in particular is special because we're celebrating 27 years entertaining the rockers and hippies, the misfits and the cultured. With incredible bands like Botanica Chango, the Palace Ballroom, Jesse Lamonaca & the Dime Novels and Mayfield booked, it's almost as if I planned the night myself. (I didn't, though I maybe had some suggestions.) Of course, it's gonna be packed, so come down early and stay out late -- this free event is open to the public, but admission is subject to capacity. We're going against some heavy hitters, like Big Bad Buffalo at UCSD, Tuxedo (Mayer Hawthorne's project) at the Observatory, and another night of Big Head Todd at the Belly Up, but we feel strongly that you'll want to hang out with us at the Casbah -- and we can't wait to see all of your lovely faces. We've got some free stuff from Belching Beacver Brewery for those of you on the list who get there by 9:30, but don't forget your dollars to tip your bartenders to make sure we're invited back.
