Are there shows or events that you missed that you kinda always kick yourself for? One of mine was when Dan Auerbach played a free show at Hodad's. I mean, I was there, but by the time I got there, it was so packed and blocked that I could only really peek in. The good news is I've subsequently seen the Black Keys a bunch and even Dan Auerbach the last time he was in town. That show was so good, it should come as no surprise that tonight's show at the Observatory is sold out. What isn't sold out, but totally should be, is Bully at the Casbah. We love this band so much, and if you love '90s grunge, Bully is a modern equivalent but elevated and female fronted. Plus, Alicia loves tequila, so she's A-OK in my book. The Office has an Awesome Fest straggler party, no wristband required, and Grails play Soda Bar. For lovers of reggae, today is Boomshaka, which evolved from the festival formerly known as Bob Marley Day, at Valley View Casino Center.
