Semi's Determine Who Goes to the Q

The final push to the Stadium is upon us.  It's down to four teams in each division of the High School playoffs, and the winners of each game will get their chance to play for a section title at Qualcomm Stadium next weekend.

Division 1 has Carlsbad at La Costa Canyon and Mission Hills at Escondido.  Mission Hills is riding high after their 20-14 upset win over Poway last weekend.  They'll have their hands full with Escondido's ground game behind the sections rushing leader Ricky Seale.  La Costa Canyon has a stout defense and should be able to use their home field advantage to take out the Lancers.

Division 2 gives us one of the best matchups of the semis with Scripps Ranch visiting Oceanside.  It will be a battle between two blue chip recruits as Tate Forcier of Scripps goes head to head with Oceanside's Jordan Wynn.

D-3 features the game of the week.  St. Augustine heads to Cathedral Catholic where they look to avenge their 56-30 regular season loss to the Dons.

Coronado and Valley Center will likely be a shootout in Division 4.  It's another top quarterback matchup with Mason Mills of Coronado and Tyler Bernard of Valley Center.  In the other D-4 game, Mission Bay will try to get to the Q for the second year in a row.  They will be thinking upset against the undefeated Madison Warhawks.
