Rickey Heads Hall of Fame Nominees

Henderson A First-Ballot Lock

Baseball's Hall of Fame Ballot is out.

There's really only one lock among the first-time candidates for the Class of 2009.  It's Rickey Henderson.

Baseball's all-time leader in stolen bases and runs scored, Rickey played for 9 different teams in his 25 year career, including the Padres twice and the A's 4 times.

He'll probably go into Cooperstown with an Oakland hat.

Rickey is not the only one to appear on the ballot for the first time this year who has San Diego ties.

Former Padres Greg Vaughn, Jesse Orosco and Ron Gant are also on the ballot, as is Aztec great Mark Grace.  Voting results will be announced January 12th.
