Guests at the MerK Bistro got more than a free roll with their dinner on Wednesday.
The MerK Bistro Italiano -- which sits atop the Keating Hotel downtown -- offered customers free Ferrari rides with their discounted drinks and meals. The Rev Me Up Happy Hour from 5:30-8 p.m. featured the aforementioned little Italian sports car, giving guests the chance to speed around downtown San Diego in style. The Ferrari's designated driver allowed patrons to sample the Rev Me Up cocktail, a specialty drink made with Buffalo Trace, Amaretto, cranberry juice, pomegranate simple syrup, lemon, lime juice and a splash of grenadine. Guests had to fork over $11 to enjoy the bartender’s creation and a ride in the Ferrari.
While the Ferrari won’t be around every night, the MerK’s happy hour menu -- including the bartender’s daily Rev Me Up cocktail and $5 wells, wine and beer -- is here to stay daily (from 5-7 p.m.).
